The inspection revealed that the units strictly implemented the order of the MR1 Command on performing civil defense tasks, natural disaster and incidents response, as well as search and rescue operations; building concrete plans and ensuring that troops thoroughly grasp their missions; regularly updating the development of Storm Talim and flooding situation in the locality; and preparing adequate personnel and vehicles and keeping them on standby to carry out missions if requested.

MR1 actively responds to Storm Talim

In particular, Division 3 deployed 5,400 troops, 40 vehicles and other equipment for the storm response and search and rescue missions in the provinces of Bac Ninh, Bac Giang and Lang Son.

Also, 240 troops and 33 specialized vehicles of Engineer Brigade 575 were in a ready position for storm prevention and control missions in Thai Nguyen, Bac Giang and Bac Ninh provinces.

To respond to the first storm in the year, MR1 directed its agencies and units, especially the military commands of Lang Son, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Bac Giang, Thai Nguyen, and Bac Ninh provinces to strictly maintain combat readiness, closely follow the storm’s developments and flooding situation in the localities.

Together with building response plans, MR1’s agencies and units were asked to take storm prevention measures while ensuring safety for troops, barracks, warehouses, weapons and technical equipment, as well as fully prepare personnel and vehicles to handle any circumstances in a timely manner.

Meanwhile, the units and agencies should closely coordinate with local authorities and local military units to check lakes, dams and areas with high risks of flash floods and landslides and required their troops to stand ready to help local people to surmount storm aftermath.
