When they were just 6-7 years old, Hieu and Huyen did housework to help their mother. They also made cake and cooked sweet soup, then sold these foods online to earn money. With remarkable efforts, Huyen was admitted to the Military Logistics Academy, setting a shining example for her younger brother. Huyen held that as a breadwinner, her mother is always busy; however, she still spends time teaching them. “I am proud of becoming an Uncle Ho’s soldier like my mother,” added Huyen.

Meanwhile, 4th grader Ro Lan Dinh Phuong Nam, a Gia Rai ethnic minority boy from Hung Vuong Primary School, Chu Prong district, Gia Lai province, who is also the child of martyr Ro Lan Phuc and Non-commissioned Senior Captain Dinh Thi Doai from Chu Prong district Military Command, Gia Lai province, also did his utmost to deserve the family’s tradition and his father’s dedication. Nam’s teacher, Tran Thi Thu, said that he really likes math and always tries to do hard math exercises.

The noble virtues of Uncle Ho’s soldiers have been imbued in Nguyen Thi Thanh Binh’s soul, a 18-year-old girl of Major Nguyen Quang Tho from Tuy An district Military Command, Phu Yen province. She is always an excellent student at Tran Phu High School. She said that she was proud to be the daughter of a soldier. “My parents always encourage me to achieve my dream, so I will try to be better than I was in the past,” said Binh.
