More than 200 troops in Son La province help locals overcome flood consequences
PANO - On July 23 and 24, prolonged rains left severe consequences in Son La province’s districts of Thuan Chau, Mai Son, Bac Yen, Muong La, and Van Ho.
Especially, most communes and wards in Son La city were seriously flooded, affecting people’s daily activities.
Currently, some areas on main roads of Son La city, such as Truong Chinh, Nguyen Luong Bang, Vincom Shopping Center area, intersection, among others, are deeply flooded. Many households had to move their property to safer places.
Accordingly, the Son La provincial Military Command has sent more than 200 troops from Regiment 754 to the scene to support local people overcome flood consequences and evacuate them and their property to safer places.
At the same time, the Son La municipal Military Command has also coordinated with functional units to conduct natural disaster prevention and control, and search and rescue mission, and instruct local people to respond to the flooding.
Meanwhile, hundreds of troops, together with traffic police, have been mobilized to direct traffic and support people in handling arising situations.
