In detail, over the past time, the Central Military Commission and Ministry of National Defense have directed agencies and units in the whole military to closely coordinate with central departments, ministries, sectors and localities to give advice to the Party and State to promulgate and implement policies for martyrs’ families, national contributors, and troops’ families.
Since 2013, the whole country has collected more than 21,000 sets of martyrs’ remains. Over the past ten years, the whole military has mobilized troops and other resources to contribute more than VND 550 billion to the gratitude fund; built more than 7,000 gratitude houses; taken care of 2,879 heroic Vietnamese mothers; and sponsored 702 children of martyrs and seriously wounded soldiers, among others.
This year, the MND has conducted a series of activities, including visiting heroic Vietnamese mothers, Heroes of the People’s Armed Forces, Labor Heroes, and national contributors; presenting gifts to policy beneficiaries in the stationed areas; and working with the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to organize a get-together and honor outstanding national contributors in 2024 in Hanoi, to name but a few.

These activities have contributed to efforts of the Party and whole people to take better care of policy beneficiaries and national contributors, as well as educating troops, especially young generations, on the tradition “When drinking water, remember its sources” of the nation.
