The People’s Army Newspaper (PAN), in coordination with the For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF), on August 25, held a program to present gifts to Agent Orange (AO)/dioxin victims in Dong Hung district, Thai Binh province, to mark the Day for Victims of AO/dioxin in Vietnam (August 10).

Addressing the event, Senior Colonel Le Ngoc Long, the PAN’s Deputy Editor-in-Chief, affirmed the great contribution of wounded and fallen soldiers in Thai Binh province during the cause of national defense.

The program aimed to share difficulties with the victims and their families, contributing to helping them soon stabilize their life.

During the ceremony, the PAN and the foundation presented 100 gifts, each including VND 1 million in cash and a box of TH True Milk, to 100 members of the Association for Victims of AO/dioxin of Dong Hung district.

On the occasion, Thai Minh Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company and STP International Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company also presented gifts to local AO/dioxin victims.

* On the same day, in Ben Tre province, Ho Chi Minh City’s Military Command organized a program to inaugurate and hand over 15 gratitude houses to needy and policy households.

The constructions were started from April 2023. They were built on areas from 65 to 75 square meters. Ho Chi Minh City’s Military Command supported VND 1.2 billion for these constructions.

On the occasion, the unit and local authorities also presented meaningful gifts to the recipients.

* A gratitude house was also handed over to Mrs. Vo Thi Ai’s family, born in 1946 from An Ngai commune, Long Dien district, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.

Mrs. Ai is a daughter of war martyr Vo Van Hai who sacrificed during the national resistance war against foreign colonialists. She is living with her nephew in An Ngai commune.

The house was built at a total cost of VND 120 million, including VND 80 million extracted from the Ministry of National Defense.
