Local armed forces actively cope with 2019-nCoV outbreak
PANO – The Hai Duong Provincial Armed Forces have collaborated with local authorities to take measures to prevent the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV).
The Hai Duong Provincial Military Command has taken various measures to brace for the disease. Its military medical units have disseminated information related to the recent outbreak in China for all troops while ensuring environmental sanitation inside their barracks. The command has also prepared a quarantine area for suspected 2019-nCoV-infected cases.
According to Major Dang Thanh Hai, head of the health sector of the Provincial Military Command, local military medical personnel have regularly checked body temperatures of all troops and required them to wash their hands twice a day. All participants in the meetings held by the command are ordered to have their body temperatures checked and wash their hands before joining these events. On the other hand, military personnel must use face masks when performing their tasks or meeting people outside their barracks.
In addition, the command enhanced dissemination of information about the coronavirus for troops while forming medical teams with adequate equipment and vehicles to respond in case of outbreak.
A quarantine area for the Vietnamese citizens returning from Hong Kong (China) and other countries affected by the epidemic has been established at Regiment 125. Reportedly, the area’s facilities can accommodate between 200 and 250 people.
