Injured fisherman received life-saving treatment
PANO – An injured fisherman had his life saved at the Song Tu Tay infirmary on June 2 after becoming paralyzed as a result of an accident.
Previously, on June 1, while many fishing vessels operating in the Truong Sa (Spratly) waters had to take refuge near Song Tu Tay (Southwest Cay) Island due to difficult weather conditions, fisherman Tran Trieu on trawler BTh96607/TS with Nguyen Van Xep from Binh Thuan province at the helm, was transferred to the island medical station; an accident had previously left him paralyzed in both hands and legs while diving deeply into the sea.
After carrying out a diagnosis, local medical personnel immediately provided him with emergency treatment, and, by 7:00 am on June 2, the patient had regained consciousness and was again able to move his hands and feet.
