Helping flood-hit victims - order from heart
PANO - Military Hospital 354 considered providing military medical support, environmental sanitation, and disease prevention for people affected by floods caused by the circulation of Typhoon Matmo in Thai Nguyen province an extremely important mission in peacetime.
Directed by the leadership of the General Department of Logistics and Technical Services, the hospital has set its highest determination to assist local residents in disaster relief efforts to soon stabilize their lives in the spirit of “Leave no one behind.”
On the afternoon of October 10, Director of Military Hospital 354 Senior Colonel Ha Duy Duong convened an emergency meeting with relevant agencies and the disaster relief team. Immediately after the meeting, all preparations were swiftly carried out.
At 9 a.m. on October 11, assigned forces from the hospital set off for Thai Nguyen province, which was most heavily affected by the latest flood.
Upon arrival, the military medical team began their mission in Linh Son ward, Thai Nguyen city, providing free health check-ups and essential medicines for eye and digestive diseases for local residents. They also joined local efforts to disinfect, clean up the environment, distribute leaflets, and provide necessities, such as milk, food, and vegetables.
