During the program, the GDT mobilized 10 experienced doctors and pharmacists and modern medical equipment to give free health check-ups and medicines to 600 policy beneficiaries, national contributors and needy people in Mang Yang district.

Meanwhile, the GDT presented 40 gifts, including necessities, to local people in hard conditions.

Veteran Pham Van Hieu, aged 68, from Kon Dong townlet, touchingly shared that he was an Agent Orange victim and had several serious diseases. He felt so happy as he received free medical examination and medicines. He sent deep thanks to the GDT and medical staff.

Inquiring after local people, Lieutenant General Tran Duy Hung, GDT’s Political Commissar, hoped that the locals would pay more attention to taking care of their health, promote production activities, and place absolute trust in the leadership of the Party, the State and the local authorities, contributing to building the great national unity bloc.

According to the GDT’s political commissar, since 2015, GDT’s units have conducted 30 free health check-up and medicine programs for tens of thousands of people.

In addition, the GDT has provided financial support for localities to upgrade medical stations and buy medical supplies and equipment, mobilized people to donate more than 5,000 blood units, and handed over gifts to nearly 6,000 policy families, national contributors and needy households, to name but a few.

The program showed the care of the Party, the State and the military for troops and people’s health, contributing to consolidating the great national unity bloc as well as military-civilian ties, Gen. Hung underlined.
