During the event, the unit disseminated laws on combating illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing to more than 200 local fishermen. Fishing boat owners, captains, and crew-members signed commitments not to be involved in IUU violations.

In addition, free medical check-ups and medicine were provided for over 150 fishermen and policy beneficiaries. The organizing panel also presented 70 gift packages, worth VND 1 million each, to disadvantaged fishermen’s families and policy households; 20 gift packages, including a life jacket, flashlight, national flag, and VND 500,000 in cash each, to offshore fishing boat owners; and 20 scholarships, worth 1 VND million each, to needy students.

At the event, a campaign on cleaning the sea was launched at Ca Na fishing port, attracting a large number of Youth Union members and local residents, reflecting the determination to protect a clean, green, and beautiful marine environment.

According to Colonel Duong Minh Chau, Deputy Political Commissar of Flotilla 32, the program is a practical mass mobilization activity that helps strengthen the great national unity bloc, deepen the close bond between the military and the people, and firmly safeguard the sacred sovereignty of the national sea and islands.
