PANO - At 8:10 a.m. on October 12, the leadership of Flotilla 32 of Coast Guard Region 3 received an emergency report from Coast Guard Ship CSB 8020 about an overturned fishing boat with no identification number. The boat, carrying three fishermen from Khanh Hoa Province, capsized due to large waves, approximately 1.2 nautical miles from Flotilla 32’s Port No.3.
Under the direction of the unit’s commanding officers, Ship CSB 9033 from Squadron 322 of Flotilla 32 immediately headed to the scene.

Ship CSB 9033 approaching the fishing boat to tow it ashore |
Upon arrival, the crew quickly initiated rescue operations. After a brief but determined effort, all three fishermen were safely brought aboard. Ship CSB 9033 then towed the fishing boat back to Flotilla 32’s port and, in coordination with the General Repair Station, used a crane to bring the boat ashore safely.
According to the fishermen, at around 7:50 a.m. that morning, they had departed from Hon Khoi Port (Ninh Hoa Town, Khanh Hoa Province) to go fishing. However, while out at sea, they were hit by a sudden rain and large waves, which capsized their boat and threw them into the sea. Fortunately, they managed to cling to the overturned boat and waved their shirts to signal for help from Flotilla 32’s ships anchored nearby.
