Lieutenant General Do Can handing over Defense Ministry's gifts to national contributors from Dong Nai

On October 17, the Ministry of National Defense (MND) held a meeting for a delegation of national contributors of Dong Nai province under the chair of Lieutenant General Do Can, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics (GDP) of the Vietnam People’s Army.

During resistance wars against foreign invaders, armed forces and residents from the province made great contributions to the cause of national liberation and reunification.

Over the past time, local Party Committees, authorities, armed forces, and residents have tried their best to overcome difficulties to achieve important advancements while attaching importance to the implementation of policies for national contributors.

Currently, the province has over 57,000 national contributors. Among them 13,710 receive monthly allowances (totally worth VND 22 billion).

Addressing the event, on behalf of the GDP’s leaders, General Can congratulated Dong Nai province on their achievements over the past years. He also expressed his deep gratitude to the Party Committee, authorities, and people of the province for their contributions to the development of the Vietnam People’s Army.

The general also briefed the delegates on military units’ task performances. Accordingly, the Central Military Commission (CMC) and MND have actively made recommendations to the Party and State to issue and apply policies for troops and their families and national contributors.

In addition, they searched and collected 1,120 martyrs' remains in the first six months of this year as well as carried out many meaningful gratitude activities for policy beneficiaries.

During the get-together, national contributors from Dong Nai province expressed their delight at the care of the CMC, MND, and GDP, and pledged to continue promoting the heroic traditions and contributing to the national revolutionary cause in the current context.
