On previous day, vessel QNa 91289 TS, captained by Nguyen Tan Vinh from Tam Giang commune, Nui Thanh district, caught fire and sank due to a short circuit when fishing for squid about 85 nautical miles off the East-Southeast of An Hoa Cape. Fortunately, its six on-board fishermen were rescued by fishing ship QNa 93719 TS operating nearby.
Previously, on September 25, fishing vessel numbered QNa 90569 TS with Huynh Van Suu at the helm went adrift due to its broken propeller when fishing about 185 nautical miles East-Northeast of An Hoa Cape. Reportedly, the vessel has 12 crewmembers on board.
Upon receiving the mayday signal, the provincial border guards command contacted the distressed vessel to assess the situation and called on nearby fishing ships for help. The local border guards also asked the Maritime Rescue Coordination Center Region II to send a rescue ship to tow the distressed vessel ashore.
