Defense minister pays tribute to former and late defense leaders
PANO – A delegation of the Ministry of National Defense, led by its Minister General Phan Van Giang visited and paid tribute to former and late defense leaders on July 18 in Hanoi on the occasion of the 74th anniversary of Wounded Soldiers' and Martyrs' Day (July 27).
General Giang offered incense to commemorate late defense leaders, including Gen. Vo Nguyen Giap, Sen. Lt. Gen. Le Kha Phieu, Gen. Le Duc Anh, Gen. Nguyen Chi Thanh, Gen. Van Tien Dung, Gen. Doan Khue, Gen. Le Trong Tan, Gen. Hoang Van Thai, Gen. Chu Huy Man, Sen. Lt. Gen. Dao Dinh Luyen and Sen. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Khac Nghien.

He and his entourage expressed their deep gratitude to the great contributions of the late generals to the Party’s revolutionary cause, the national construction and defense cause, and the development of the Vietnam People’s Army.
Visiting the hero of the People’s Armed Force Sen. Lt. Gen. Pham Thanh Ngan, General Giang briefed the former Director of the General Department of Politics on the outstanding achievements of the military over the past time, especially in COVID-19 prevention and control.

General Giang affirmed that he hopes General Ngan will continue paying attention and contributing ideas to the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense to direct the military to fulfill all assigned missions.
In turn, Sen. Lt. Gen. Pham Thanh Ngan expressed his gratitude to the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense and the defense minister. He praised the remarkable achievements of the military over the past time, and hoped that military troops will continue to promote Uncle Ho’s good virtues and be ready to undertake and complete all assigned tasks in the time to come.
