According to preliminary statistics from the Ia Lop communal People’s Committee, the natural disaster blew off roofs and auxiliary facilities of 18 households. Notably, two houses completely collapsed. Furthermore, large areas of crops ready for harvest were destroyed.
Upholding the “four on-the-spot” motto, Defense-Economic Unit 737, and Ea H’Leo Border Post, among others quickly mobilized forces to assist local residents.
At the affected households, dozens of officers and soldiers helped clean up debris, repair and reinforce damaged houses, and move properties to safer places. For families with completely collapsed houses, forces joined hands to build temporary shelters, helping them soon stabilize their lives. Local leaders and commanders of units also visited to encourage the affected families and assessed the damage to devise appropriate support plans.
At the same time, in Ia Rve commune, a tornado blew off parts of the roofs of three houses. Following the natural disaster, local authorities and functional forces promptly assisted the locals in overcoming the damage and stabilizing their lives.
Currently, the land border area of Dak Lak province is entering the season change, frequently experiencing extreme weather phenomena such as thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning, and strong gusts of wind. Facing this situation, local border guards have coordinated with functional forces to step up information dissemination, update weather developments, and instruct locals to proactively reinforce houses and production facilities, as well as protect crops, livestock, and properties. They have also worked to raise public awareness of natural disaster prevention and control, staying ready to respond to unusual situations to minimize losses of human life and properties.
