The Vietnamese artists’ deeds demonstrate their responsibility for the community in the context of the complicated COVID-19 situation.

Speaking at the ceremony, Major General Phung Quoc Tuan, Deputy Commissar of the Border Guard Command, affirmed that those practical gifts would encourage the military in its efforts to prevent the spread of the COVID-19.

So far, 535 border guard teams have been set up to guard around the clock at border gates and paths, contributing to preventing the spread of the disease.

On the same day, 20 groups and individuals handed over medical equipment and cash to the Standing Organ of the Vietnam Border Guard Command in the South. 

Accordingly, the Liaison Board of the Border Guard in Ho Chi Minh City, Corporation 28 of the General Department of Logistics, and Co.opmart Cong Quynh supermarket, among others presented 2,000 pieces of protective medical clothing, 40,000 medical face masks, 3,850 bottles of hand sanitizer and 90 litter of rubbing alcohol.

Speaking at the event, Senior Colonel Nguyen Quoc Cuong, Deputy Political Chief of the Vietnam Border Guard Command, said that in response to the complicated developments of the COVID-19, the Vietnam Border Command instructed its units to conduct patrols at border gates and border areas to prevent illegal immigration.

The force has cooperated with localities in disseminating information related to the COVID-19 to troops and local people to raise their awareness of the disease prevention. Border guard units have delivered more than 7,000 leaflets with COVID-19-related information and presented over 200,000 face masks to local people.
