“Coast guards stand by fishermen” program launched
PANO – A wide range of meaningful activities have been conducted during a program titled “Coast guards stand by fishermen” in Ly Son island district, Quang Ngai province by the Coast Guard Region 2 Command, the Ly Son district People’s Committee on May 11 and 12.

The course of activities has been seen as a new mass mobilization model of the Vietnam Coast Guard. It includes many practical activities such as organizing artistic exchange; disseminating information on the sea and islands and the mission of ensuring security and order at sea for fishermen and cadres as well as residents of Ly Son district; presenting gifts to policy families, needy fishermen and scholarships to poor students with good academic records; signing an agreement on coordination activities between the Coast Guard Region 2 Command and An Hai commune; and providing first aid and emergency techniques and medicine kits, life jackets, and national flags to fishermen.
In addition, the Coast Guard Region 2 Command mobilized many businesses and benefactors to participate in the program, thereby contributing to raising people’s responsibility for the cause of the country's sea and island protection.
