Coast Guard Region 3 provides fresh water for saltwater-intrusion affected people
PANO - The Coast Guard Region 3 Command, in collaboration with several Ho Chi Minh-based units, presented purified water to people in Binh Dai district, Ben Tre province on May 5.
In particular, as many as 2,000 20-liter purified water jars were handed over to the hands of people in Phu Thuan, Long Dinh and Long Hoa communes of Binh Dai district by the command and units, including the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union’s Ho Chi Minh City chapter, Ho Chi Minh City’s Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Food Safety, Hi-tech Park, and public security force.

On April 15 and April 20, the Coast Guard Region 3 Command provided people in Binh Dai district with 1,000 purified water jars, and 1,300 cubic meters of clean water.
According to Colonel Bui Vinh Tran, Director of the Department of Political Affairs of the Coast Guard Region 3 Command, in the context that complicated and prolonged drought and saltwater intrusion in the Southwestern provinces have been causing difficulties and disrupting local people's lives, the Coast Guard Region 3 Command has coordinated with many agencies and units to provide drinking water and fresh water for people in Ben Tre province in order to help them overcome difficulties in life.
