The reports presented at the conference emphasized that since the beginning of 2023, the two forces have regularly collaborated to disseminate legal information to people and fishermen in coastal provinces and cities. They have actively exchanged information related to the management and protection of sovereignty, security, and order at sea, as well as the activities of foreign fishing vessels violating Vietnamese waters and Vietnamese fishing vessels infringing upon foreign waters.
The two forces have collaborated in conducting patrols and inspections to combat IUU fishing in various areas such as the Gulf of Tonkin and in regions adjacent to Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, and others. They have also effectively carried out logistics supplies and technical services while providing timely updates to facilitate search and rescue missions.

An overview of the conference |
Addressing the conference, Major General Le Dinh Cuong and Rear Admiral Nguyen Dinh Hung stressed several directions to enhance the effectiveness of IUU combat in the near future.
Specifically, both parties will continue to direct and guide relevant agencies and units to systematically implement solutions for IUU prevention. They will also intensify education to raise awareness and responsibility among fishermen, closely monitor situations, and promptly exchange information with relevant authorities and local governments regarding IUU prevention.
Both sides will closely cooperate in deploying forces and resources, establishing task forces to inspect compliance with IUU patrol and control regulations in the border areas of Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia.
