Border guards help light up border village
PANO – The Border Post of Ra Mai of the Quang Binh provincial Border Guard Command, and relevant organizations, on August 1, co-held a program to inaugurate a lighting facility to hand over to the people in Khe Cay village, Trong Hoa commune, Minh Hoa district, Quang Binh province.
The project, named “Light in border areas,” was conducted by Ra Mai Border Post for the people in Khe Cay village, Trong Hoa commune. The nearly 1 km-long facility, worth over VND 45 million, has 25 light poles and uses solar energy.

The money donated by local sponsors was to buy installation equipment for the construction. Meanwhile, officers and soldiers of Ra Mai Border Post coordinated with local officials and people to perform the construction. After more than a week, the project was completed.
The work is expected to make contribution to raising local people’s cultural and spiritual life.
So far, the Quang Binh provincial Border Guard Command, in coordination with border posts along borderline in Quang Binh province, has built 84 similar systems, with the length of over 81 km and total cost of nearly VND 4 billion to serve border people.
