Army Corps 15 supports border people
PANO – In order to ease rice shortages before a new harvesting season, on June 9, a delegation of Army Corps 15, led by its Political Chief Colonel Dang Quang Dung, visited and presented over six tons of rice to needy people in Ia Mo commune, Chu Prong border district, Gia Lai province.
According to Colonel Dung, over the past years, in addition to implementing economic development in line with defense missions, the corps also effectively carried out mass mobilization and took part in poverty reduction aiming at border people.

This quantity of rice, worth nearly VND 100 million, was bought with donations from the unit’s troops and staff to help the ethnic minority people to overcome difficulties before a new season.
The unit also directed its affiliated companies to reclaim more than 30 hectares of rice farming land, provide seeds and fertilizers, and instruct local people on how to grow, fertilize, and harvest rice.
The practical activity of the troops helped local residents overcome difficulties while contributing to boosting military-civilian ties.
On behalf of the local authorities, Vice Chairman of Ia Mo commune People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Anh thanked the corps for their support, affirming that the troops’ noble deeds would promote the beautiful image of Uncle’s soldiers.
