Army builds thousands of houses for policy beneficiaries
PANO – Units in the whole army launched the “Whole army joins hands to build new-style rural areas” emulation movement and have over the past time encouraged their troops to take part in it with highest responsibilities.
In the past three years, the whole army donated over VND 656 billion to funds for hunger eradication and poverty reduction and for building medical stations, schools, communal houses, and more. In addition, they offered nearly 4.6 million of labor days to upgrade 9,400km of rural roads, dredged over 7,860km of irrigation canals, and built 1,533 classrooms. Military units also built 3,636 gratitude houses, handed over 24,570 cow breeds to poor people, took care of 2,723 disadvantaged students, to name but a few. These activities have contributed to eradicating hunger, reducing poverty, and ensuring social welfare, political security and social order in critical areas.
Apart from that, military doctors offered information dissemination to help minority ethnic people keep hygiene and prevent epidemics while providing free health check-ups and medicine for over 1.6 million people, donating over 68,860 blood units and presenting medical equipment to local medical centers.
The whole army also ensured benefits for servicemen and their families, raised money for gratitude funds, took care of 1,476 Vietnamese heroic mothers, and more.
