This year’s festival draws the participation of nearly 2,500 athletes from 47 military agencies and units.

Athletes will compete in ten events, including badminton, table tennis, tennis and volleyball.

The festival aims to encourage troops to further practice and be fit for training requirements.

Addressing the festival, whose first stage ends on November 27, General Huong emphasized that the military sports and physical training sector has developed along with the national sports and physical training sector.

General Huong noted that a lot of military athletes have brought home precious medals, contributing to promoting the illustrious status of Vietnam’s sports in the region, the continent and the world.

“Besides investing in high-quality sports, military units have paid due attention to improving the physical strength for their troops and quality and levels of their sports and physical training,” said General Huong.

The Deputy Chief of the General Staff urged participating forces to heighten responsibility, be honest, determined to win, and confident to achieve best results.
