PANO – The Military Zone 9 High Command has recently reviewed and rewarded its outstanding athletes in the Whole-Army Sports Festival 2011.

At this year’s festival, 52 competitors of the Zone took part in 13 categories and performed well in swimming, AK and K54 shootings, four combined military sports, badminton, table tennis and huddle race. As a result, the Zone ranks third among 50 participating units with three gold, one silver and two bronze medals in swimming.

The Zone presented 16 certificates of merit to its individuals and groups for their outstanding performance at the sports event.

Earlier, the Military Zone 9 High Command also commended and rewarded swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien who had won two silver medals in the 26th SEA Games.
