Deputy Defense Minister Sr. Lt. Gen. Vu Hai San, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and head of the VIDEX 2021 organizing panel Lt. Gen. Huynh Chien Thang, Deputy Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs Sr. Lt. Gen. Do Can, representatives of the Ministry of Science and Technology, central sectors, departments, affiliates of the Ministry of National Defense, defense attachés of foreign countries to Vietnam attended the event.
In his opening remarks, General San reviewed outstanding outcomes of the military in performing economic-defense combination tasks over the past years and emphasized the importance and significance of VIDEX 2021 in the current period.
The deputy defense minister also stressed such advantages of this event which is held in both in in-person and virtual forms as saving costs, increasing efficiency, ensuring transparency for trade activities, getting close to big partners and customers, shortening trading and connecting cycle.
According to General San, VIDEX 2021 supports enterprises to popularize their brands, products and services, improve quality and efficiency of production and business, especially in the condition of safe and flexible adaptation to and effective control of COVID-19.
More than 100 domestic and international businesses, including the Military Industry-Telecoms Group (Viettel), Saigon Newport corporation, Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MB), Vietnam Helicopter Corporation, participate in the three-day exhibition and fair.
During the event, apart from the showcase of outcomes in military science and technology and economic-defense combination, there will be seminars, trade, supply-demand connection activities, and technology demonstrations, among others.
