As a key force of the engineering force of Military Region 9, Engineering Brigade 25 is tasked with combat readiness, search and rescue, terrorism prevention, combat training, combat facility building, settlement of post-war bombs and mines, and building of a strong and healthy Party organization and a comprehensively strong, exemplary, and typical unit.

The unit has surmounted difficulties to excellently fulfill all of its assignments. Its troops have been firm in political stance, and shown high determination in taking on missions. Attentively, the unit is ever-ready to respond to incidents, natural disasters and carry out search and rescue missions.

Moreover, every year it collects and deals with dozens of tons of bombs and mines left over from the war, ensuring absolute safety of personnel and vehicles. In the first half of this year, it found 3,828 tons of bombs, including 16 bombs weighing from 250 to 750 pounds, conducted mine clearance for dozens of projects, and freed nearly 200 hectares from bomb and mine contamination.

It has paid due attention to policy for troops’ families, given support to disadvantaged servicemen and servicemen from the Khmer ethnic group.

He asked the unit to victoriously perform its political tasks, resolutely fight against individualism, promote the “Studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality and style” movement and “Promoting traditions, devoting talent, deserving to be Uncle Ho’s soldiers” campaign, and make good preparation for the 50th founding anniversary of the brigade in 2025.

The state leader also urged Engineering Brigade 25 to enhance political education among troops, actively protect the Party’s ideological foundation, combat wrongful, hostile and reactionary viewpoints, improve troops’ competence, combat readiness capability, and assist locals to overcome consequences of natural disasters and other incidents.

Moreover, the unit should organize training sessions for different categories of personnel to master provided weapons and specialized equipment, continue clearing post-war bombs and mines, and strengthen internal solidarity and relations between troops and people.
