Deputy Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nghia, Commander of the Engineering Corps Major General Tran Trung Hoa, Political Commissar of the Engineering Corps Senior Colonel Dinh Ngoc Tuong, and representatives of functional agencies of the Ministry of National Defense, military regions, services, and army corps attended the opening ceremony.

The five-day event will check participating COs and political commissars’ knowledge about military, political, logistic and technical work in conducting operations as well as in carrying out regular missions of building combat projects, detecting unexploded ordnance, and conducting natural disaster prevention and search and rescue.
The participants will also demonstrate their skills of ensuring engineering force for strategic-level operations, perform lineup regulation, and boast their physical fitness.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Commander of the Engineering Corps Major General Tran Trung Hoa emphasized the significance of the competition. He said that the event is one of the training methods to raise the quality of the COs of engineering units in the whole military and an opportunity for participants to share and learn new experience in training, combat readiness and building of comprehensive strong units.

The commander of the Engineering Corps asked the organizing panel to cooperate with relevant agencies to organize the competition as planned and ensure absolute safety of people and equipment.
He urged the jury to make honest, objective, fair and accurate decisions and competing officers to strictly observe competition regulations and overcome all difficulties and be confident to obtain high results.
