* The military commands of the four provinces of Vinh Phuc, Phu Tho, Yen Bai, and Tuyen Quang in Military Region 2 handed over several thousands of recruits to local military units. Among the enlistees, 24 are members of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

* The same day, provinces and cities in Military Region 3 simultaneously held similar events to hand over recruits to units. The handover process was run smoothly and all set targets of the localities were achieved thanks to their thorough preparations. Notably, most of the enlistees have good health and educational backgrounds.

* Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Deputy Minister of National Defense, joined the recruit handover ceremony in Duy Tien town, Ha Nam province. Reportedly, the local military units have provided timely advice to the local authorities and the town’s Board of Military Service on the implementation of the recruitment drive and following the Law on Military Service. This year, the town has some 200 young people joining the military.

* Rear Admiral Nguyen Trong Binh, Deputy Chief of the General Staff, and Mr. Le Van Thanh, Secretary of the Hai Phong Municipal Party Committee, attended the ceremony in Vinh Bao district.

During this year’s enlistment drive, Hai Phong City has thousands of youths joining the military. Prior to the handover day, the local authorities have met and presented gifts, worth around VND 6 billion, to recruits, whose families are facing difficulties.

* Lieutenant General Ngo Minh Tien, Deputy Chief of the General Staff, joined the ceremony in Thai Binh city on February 11. According to the report by the Thai Binh Provincial Military Command, among this year’s recruits, nearly 700 wrote letters to voluntarily join the military.

* Senior Lieutenant General Do Can and Lieutenant General Le Hien Van, Deputy Directors of the General Department of Politics, together with Chairman of the Hanoi Municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung attended the handover ceremonies and encouraged enlistees from Hanoi city.

* The authorities of localities in the provinces of Yen Bai, Quang Ninh, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Quang Binh and Thua Thien-Hue have also organized solemn ceremonies to encourage and hand over recruits undertaking military service in 2020 to units.

Apparently, all recruits in the localities met the political, educational and health standards with many of them voluntarily join the military.
