This year, the locality handed over new recruits to units of Military Region 1, Army Corps 1, Army Corps 2, the Air Defense - Air Force Service, the Commando Corps, the Ceremonial Unit of the General Staff, and the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Protection Command.
Previously, the Enlistment Committees at all levels had seriously implemented stages of the enlistment, ensuring both quality and quantity of enlistees for military units.

As many as 1,400 local enlistees joined the military during this year’s enlistment drive.
Localities of the province held meetings presenting gifts, inquiring after new enlistees and encouraging them to fulfill all assigned tasks during their national service.
During the event, General Nghia and delegates presented flowers and gifts to the enlistees.
* Senior Lieutenant General Pham Ngoc Minh, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army joined a ceremony in Binh Chanh district, Ho Chi Minh City to hand over enlistees to military units.
Reportedly, the district has selected 190 enlistees for Engineer Unit 550 of Military Region 3, the Training Center of Naval Region 4, Commando Battalion 60 of the Staff of Military Region 7, and Gia Dinh Regiment of the Ho Chi Minh Municipal Military Command.
* Lieutenant General Le Hien Van, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, attended a ceremony to hand over enlistees to military units in Vinh city, Nghe An province.
The city’s 143 enlistees will serve in five military units, namely Division 324, Regiments 80 and 283 and 764 of the Provincial Military and Border Guard Commands.
To encourage the enlistees, the Municipal People’s Committee handed 34 gifts, worth VND 1 million each, to those from poor and religious families.
* About 1,000 youths of Lam Dong province began their military service on February 21. They will be sent to the Army Academy and Military Region 7’s affiliated units.
* Similarly, solemn see-off ceremonies were also held in localities of Military Regions 4 and 7 such as Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Binh Thuan, Ba Ria – Vung Tau and Tay Ninh.
According to reports, all enlisted local youths meet the criteria and many of them have volunteered themselves to do military service. A number of them are from ethnic minority groups.
