* Six provinces in Military Region 1 have fulfilled the task of handing over recruits to military units. Notably, around 1,200 of the overall 8,900 enlistees this year have volunteered to join the military; 85.1 percent of the recruits are between the ages of 18 and 22 years old. Prior to the handover, the localities organized refreshment courses to raise enlistees’ awareness of the Party and presented gifts to them.
* The handover ceremony in Bac Kan city witnessed the presence of Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Be Xuan Truong.
Reportedly, localities in Bac Kan province have provided information related to the Law on Military Service for their citizens while properly preparing for the enlistment drive as planned.

* The districts in Da Nang city, including Hai Chau, Ngu Hanh Son, Thanh Khe, Son Tra, Cam Le, Lien Chieu, and Hoa Vang also held similar ceremonies.
Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Le Chiem attended the ceremony in Hai Chau district.
Thanks to sound preparations, the recruitment drive of the city was completed as scheduled with absolute safety.
* In Bac Ninh province, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Phuong Nam, Deputy Chief of the General Staff, attended the handover ceremony and encouraged the recruits. This year, the locality has 1,750 enlistees for units of the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security.
Previously, authorities at the grassroots levels implemented selection directives, contributing to ensuring the quality of recruits for this year’s recruitment drive.
* Meanwhile, the Bac Giang municipal authorities held the ceremony in the attendance of Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Nghia, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics. This time 167 young people from the city joined the national military.

After encouraging the recruits, General Nghia inspected the preparations for welcoming new enlistees to Regiment 101 of Division 325 of Army Corps 2. Briefed on the unit’s task performance for the 2020 recruitment drive, General Nghia required its leadership to follow health related directives to prevent the outbreak of the disease caused by the novel coronavirus (nCoV) during the enlistment process.
* Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quang Phuong, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics, encouraged and congratulated Quang Ngai province’s new recruits who joined the military this time.
Addressing the ceremony in Binh Son district on February 10, General Phuong applauded local enlistees of this year’s recruitment drive and asked the local authorities to better implement the handover and welcoming ceremonies for the recruits in the time ahead.
* The same day, the provinces of Khanh Hoa, Phu Yen, Gia Lai, and Dak Lak in Military Region 5, and Lang Son in Military Region 1 held similar events to hand over recruits of the 2020 recruitment drive.
