Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education Nguyen Trong Nghia chaired the event.

The event also saw the attendance of Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong, Deputy Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet.

Speaking at the event, Nguyen Trong Nghia underscored the significance of the celebration, affirming that it is an important political event receiving much attention from the Party, State and people. The event also contributes to upholding patriotic tradition, revolutionary heroism, the will to fight and the determination to win in the cause of national construction and defense, while paying tribute to former generations who had sacrificed their blood and bones and made great contributions to the struggle for national liberation and reunification.

According to him, the Ministries of National Defense, Public Security, and Culture, Sports and Tourism, Dien Bien province, and relevant agencies and unit have pro-actively built a specific plan for the celebration and the organization of parade. All forces participating in the upcoming parade have overcome difficulties, practiced hard under the harsh weather conditions, showed high determination to accomplish assigned missions.

Nghia also required agencies and units to continue to make thorough preparations in all aspects, conduct intense practice, and ensure security and safety for activities before, during, and after the celebration.
