PANO – The Border Guard Command on February 26 held a ceremony to honor ten outstanding young faces and another ten promising ones in 2018.
Present at the ceremony were Major General Do Danh Vuong, Political Commissar of the Border Guard, and Major General Phung Quoc Tuan, Deputy Political Commissar of the Border Guard, among others.
The event was part of activities in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnam Border Guard (March 3, 1959) and the 30th anniversary of the Whole-People's Border Festive Day.
According to a report from the Department of Politics of the Border Guard, the youth of the border guard force has carried out various activities over the past year to learn more about the border guards’ tradition over the past year, such as returning to the roots, exchanging with historical witnesses, and so on.
The border troops, especially young ones, were always pioneer in protecting the national sovereignty and maintaining political security and social order in border areas. Additionally, they actively joined in border external affairs, helped locals to develop economy, and fought cross-border crimes.
Speaking at the event, General Tuan required the outstanding and promising young faces to continue making their contributions to building comprehensive strong units in the time to come.
