MR1’s preparations for Party Congress reviewed
PANO – General Ngo Xuan Lich, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission (CMC) and Defense Minister, hailed preparations for the 15th Congress of the Party Organization of the Military Region 1 in the 2020-2025 term, at a working session held on July 18.
Present at the event were General Luong Cuong, member of the Secretariat of the Central Party Committee, standing member of the CMC, Director of the General Department of Politics (GDP); Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang, permanent member of the CMC, Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Defense Minister; Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh, Deputy Defense Minister; and Senior Lieutenant General Tran Don, Deputy Defense Minister; among others.

During the meeting, Lieutenant General Duong Dinh Thong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of Military Region 1, briefed the delegates on the preparations for the Party Congress of the Party organization for the next term.
Over the past time, the Party Committee of MR1 has prepared documents and personnel in line with the instructions of the CMC’s Standing Committee and the GDP. In addition, it embraced and implemented higher levels’ instructions while actively working with local authorities to instruct its subordinate agencies to organize their Party congresses at grassroots levels. Furthermore, the personnel and election work was seriously carried out as instructed.
Concluding the conference, General Lich acknowledged and hailed the good preparations of the military region’s Party organizations. He also asked them to embrace documents and instructions from the higher levels with a focus on the new regulations.
In addition, the Party Committee should attach much importance to promoting emulation drives to welcome the congress while strictly maintaining a combat readiness posture and closely following situations, the Defense Minister concluded.
