CMC’s Standing Committee reviews preparations for Vietnam-Russia Tropical Center’s Party Congress
PANO – The Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission (CMC) held a conference on July 16 to review preparations for the 7th Congress of the Party Organization of the Vietnam-Russia Tropical Center for the 2020-2025 term.
The event was chaired by Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh, Deputy Minister of National Defense, and attended by Deputy Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh, Deputy Chief of the General Department of Politics Senior Lieutenant General Do Can, and representatives of agencies of the Ministry of National Defense.
A report delivered at the meeting emphasized that the Standing Committee of the Party Organization of the Vietnam-Russia Tropical Center embraced and instructed its affiliated units to strictly carry out higher levels’ directives and guidance on the organization of Party congresses at all level towards the 13th National Party Congress. As a result, by June 2, all Party cells under the Party Organization of the center successfully organized their Party congresses as scheduled. The center’s Party Organization actively prepared the political report and candidates for the 7th congress.

On behalf of the General Department of Politics, General Can agreed with the Party organization’s draft political report which briefed on all key missions of the center over the past time and outstanding achievements in leadership during the previous term and pointed out shortcomings that need to be addressed in the coming time. The report also suggested suitable measures, so as to achieve all targets set for the 2020-2025 period.
Concluding the event, General Vinh asked the Party Organization of the Vietnam-Russia Tropical Center to note opinions voiced at the conference. He said that the draft political report should highlight the leadership role of the Party Organization over the past time, especially over the implementation of military and defense missions. In addition, the document should review the center’s achievements in science and technology work, technology transfer and training, its active and effective response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and external defense relations.
Regarding the guidelines for mission implementation in the coming time, General Vinh urged the Party Organization to promote its leadership over the implementation of external defense relations, regulations and Party building, and personnel management. He asked the Party Committee of the Vietnam-Russia Tropical Center to complete all preparations, so as to ensure the success of the Party Congress of the Party Organization.
