According to the provincial Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, the province has more than 50,720 national contributors, including wounded and sick soldiers, and 980 Vietnamese heroic mothers (32 mothers still alive).
In 2018, Khanh Hoa province raised VND 6.5 billion for its Gratitude Fund.
Addressing the event, Gen. Can expressed his pleasure at receiving the delegates, as well as his gratitude to the authorities and people of Khanh Hoa province for their great contributions during the national liberation wars, and to the process of building and development of the Vietnam People's Army.
He also affirmed that over the past years the military has always embraced the Party's guidelines, made accurate situation forecasts, actively coordinated with other forces to effectively handle emergency situations; contributed to firmly protecting national independence, sovereignty, unification and territorial integrity, as well as to safeguarding the Party, State, people and socialism.
Accordingly, along with the implementation of training and combat readiness missions, the MND has directed its units to promote the national tradition of “When drinking water, remember its source.”
In 2018, the military visited and presented gifts, worth more than VND 677 billion, to policy beneficiaries; provided assistance for nearly 2,000 Vietnamese heroic mothers; spent VND 45 billion in repairing and building 678 gratitude houses; and presented 233 savings books and 780 breeding cattle, worth nearly VND 212 million, to policy beneficiaries and national contributors.
On the occasion, Gen. Can presented gifts to the national contributors of Khanh Hoa province.
