In the third quarter of this year, under the sound leadership of the Central Military Commission, the Central Party Committee of Public Security, and leaders of the MPS and MND, the two standing agencies have brought into play their roles, worked closely with each other to carry out effectively the Government’s Decree No.77 on the MPS's and MND’s coordination on implementing missions of protecting national security, social order and safety and defense mission as well.

Thanks to their close cooperation and good advisory work, major targets, structures, political, cultural and diplomatic events of the country, activities of the Party and State leaders, visits of international delegations, international conferences hosted by Vietnam have been ensured with absolute safety.

They have also instructed military and public security forces in localities to give recommendations to local Party committees and authorities to review the 10 years of implementing the tenth Politburo’s Resolution No.28 on continuing  the building of provinces and cities into firm defensive areas in the current period and organizing provincial-level defensive area exercises in 2018. They have also cooperated in drafting documents to instruct the execution of the Law on National Defense.

Regarding key missions in the fourth quarter, the two agencies will further their coordination to ensure the effective implementation of the Government’s Decree No.77, continue to give suggestions to the two ministries’ leaders, be active in the fight against terrorist and sabotage acts, activities undermining social order and security, acts of hostile and reactionary forces, ensure internal political stability and cyber security, prevent and disable the use of cyberspace to damage the charisma of the Party and State or attack national key information infrastructure, intensify coordination in preventing crimes and promote management of foreigners’ residence in Vietnam.

They will boost exchange of information related to defense-security missions and outcomes of the coordination between the public security and military forces in units and localities.

They will give recommendations to the leaders of the two ministries to issue their coordination plans in implementing national security protection, social safety and order and defense missions for 2019.

At the meeting, the participants voiced their comments on boosting information exchange on defense-security missions.
