At the meeting

The meeting was chaired by Senior Lieutenant General Le Chiem, Deputy Defense Minister, and attended by Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Nghia, Deputy Chief of the General Staff Rear Admiral Nguyen Trong Binh, and representatives from military units and agencies.

Under the leadership and instructions of the Standing Committee of the Military Central Commission and defense leaders, the organizing panel for celebration activities, the Department of Information and Political Education, and relevant units and agencies have actively conducted activities to mark the important events.   

Accordingly, military units have promoted information dissemination and education, organized culture and sports events, seminars, exchanges, and conducted policy and mass mobilization activities.

In the coming time, the Ministry of National Defense will coordinate with civilian agencies and localities to hold more significant activities prior to the whole people's defense festive day and VPA’s foundation day. They will focus on hosting meetings and exchanges with exemplary people who made great contributions to the building of the whole people’s defense in the 2009-2019 period. Military units and agencies will work with localities to organize exhibitions, fairs, military-civilian culture festivals, and pay tribute to fallen soldiers.

Speaking at the event, General Chiem acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of military units and agencies in hosting celebration activities. He asked relevant units to promote information dissemination and to accelerate coordination in making preparations. He also urged them to ensure security and safety at the main events.
