Military unit asked to improve combat readiness capability
PANO – Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and Deputy Defense Minister, inspected Brigade 490 of the Artillery Corps on February 22.
Last year and the first months of 2019, the brigade’s Party Committee and chain-of-command embraced directives and resolutions of higher levels, ensured training and combat readiness missions, improved their training manuals, and strengthened troops observance of the military regularities and discipline.
Hailing their achievements, General Giang underlined that the brigade should draw lessons and experience from its past task implementation to enhance its task performance this year.

After checking the conditions of the unit’s weapons and equipment, the Chief of the General Staff requested its technical force and in-charge officers to closely follow the regulations of receiving, storing, and allocating their staffed weapons and equipment. Besides, he asked the brigade to pay attention to raising its combat readiness capabilities.
The Deputy Defense Minister also visited and encouraged recruits of the recent 2019 enlistment drive, who are under basic training at the brigade.
Concluding the inspection, General Giang urged Brigade 490 to continue to embrace guidelines and resolutions of higher levels, uphold a sense of internal solidarity, and build a comprehensively strong unit and a strong Party organization to successfully complete all assigned missions.
