Military reviews task performance in Q1
PANO – The General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army held a teleconference with participants from 183 affiliated units in the whole military on April 9 to review their training mission and combat readiness in the first quarter and deploy plans for the second quarter of 2020.
The event was chaired by Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nghia, Deputy Chief of the General Staff.
Reportedly, the whole military has well conducted numerous missions such as recruitment drives, new recruits’ training, COVID-19 prevention and control, and support for people who are coping with droughts and saline intrusion in the Mekong Delta.
In particular, the training activities for new recruits were undertaken as scheduled amid the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic. Notably, several units taking part in the pandemic prevention effort implemented other training plans.
In the second quarter of 2020, the General Staff required its affiliated units to continue embracing higher levels’ resolutions and directives on military-defense affairs and combat readiness tasks while strengthening preventive measures to stop the pandemic from infecting their troops.
The organ also noted that all units should closely collaborate with local authorities to ensure training quality for militia forces and actively prepare for military drills this year.
