Military logistics asked to effectively implement key logistical tasks
PANO – Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang worked with the General Department of Logistics on February 19 in Hanoi.
Reports delivered at the working session revealed that despite the challenges posed by climate change, natural disasters, and diseases, military logistics comprehensively and effectively carried out assigned missions. The General Department of Logistics in particular and military logistics in general strictly observed duty regulations and ensured logistics for combat readiness missions and unexpected tasks.
Furthermore, amid the complicated development of the COVID-19 pandemic, the General Department of Logistics proposed measures to effectively combat SARS-CoV-2 while instructing its agencies and units to ensure logistics for natural disaster response and search and rescue missions.
Speaking at the meeting, General Giang praised the achievements of the General Department of Logistics over the past time. He said that despite the impacts of non-traditional challenges on the military in general and military logistics in particular, the General Department of Logistics instructed other agencies and units to comprehensively fulfil assigned missions. He hoped that in 2021 the logistic force will embrace higher levels’ resolutions and directives and continue making recommendations for the Party, State, the Central Military Commission, and the Ministry of National Defense to effectively implement key logistical tasks set in the Resolutions of the 13th National Party Congress and the 11th Military Party Congress.
He asked the General Department of Logistics to continue taking care of troops’ health and focus on carrying out housing policies for military servicemen.
Together with raising the quality of training and combat readiness, military logistics should promote administrative reform and foster cooperation with foreign partners, Giang said. He also expressed a strong belief that military logistics and the General Department of Logistics will effectively carry out emulation movements and build politically-, ideologically-, organizationally-, and ethically-strong Party organizations.
