Military Central Hospital 108 opens Vietnam-Germany Medical Research Center
PANO - Military Central Hospital 108 of the Vietnam People's Army held a ceremony on January 16 in Hanoi to open its Vietnam-Germany Medical Research Center, in the presence of Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh, Deputy Defense Minister.

The establishment of the center was part of the hospital’s efforts to consolidate and strengthen the 20-year medical cooperation between Military Central Hospital 108 and the University of Tubingen and promote its international integration and cooperation. At present, Military Central Hospital 108 has set up cooperation programs with more than 40 countries and territories around the world. Through these programs, the hospital’s scientists, especially the younger staff, have had more chances to access modern technologies in the world to raise their professionalism, contributing to raising the hospital’s healthcare service quality. Among the countries and territories, Germany was a top partner of Military Central Hospital 108 in training and scientific research. Over the past year, the University of Tubingen has provided the Vietnamese military hospital with medical equipment and held training courses and exchanges on the health sector for its dozens of staff.
The Vietnam-Germany Health Research Center is expected to be a reliable address for scientists of the two countries to share their experience and promote health cooperation as well as a favorable environment for Vietnamese scientists to access and practice with modern medical equipment, so as to raise their competence and professionalism.
Addressing the ceremony, General Vinh congratulated Military Central Hospital 108 on the debut of the modern center, considering it a new major breakthrough of the hospital as well as an important event that marked new developments in international cooperation between the Vietnamese military hospital and the University of Tubingen in particular and between Vietnam and Germany in general.
He hoped that the center’s cadres and staff would promote effectively achievements in cooperation with its German partner, develop it into a leading research and scientific application center and pay attention to building a contingent of professional medical staff to contribute a strong medical personnel force for Military Central Hospital 108 in particular and the military medical sector in general.
