Over the past time, agencies, ministries, departments, and localities have developed plans and implemented activities to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the foundation day of the Vietnam People's Army and launched practical emulation movements.

To prepare for the commemorative activities, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense (MND) have launched an emulation campaign, titled “Proud of Tradition - Continuing Feats-of-arms - Deserving to be Uncle Ho's Soldiers,” in the whole military; proposed awarding the Ho Chi Minh Order to the VPA; directed the Department of Economy to prepare an exhibition area to showcase achievements in building the people's armed forces and the whole-people defense posture and for the second Vietnam International Defense Expo.
The General Department of Political Affairs and other agencies have been asked to direct and coordinate to widely disseminate the important events through different forms. Meanwhile, the General Staff has directed the Military Training Department to implement plans on organizing the ASEAN military music exchange event among ASEAN members and other diplomatic activities.

Speaking at the conference, Gen. Luong acknowledged and praised agencies and units for their task accomplishment over the past time. The deputy defense minister urged agencies, departments, and localities to closely coordinate with the MND to complete the preparation, ensuring that the event will be held as scheduled.
He said that the Ministry of Public Security will coordinate with the Ministry of National Defense to come up with security and safety protection plans for the events. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism will work with the MND to effectively organize cultural, literary, artistic, and sports activities.
Press agencies, both inside and outside the military, will develop dissemination plans and programs through different forms, thus creating widespread resonance in the Party and society.
