The event drew the participation of Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong; Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Vu Hai San; Deputy Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Huynh Chien Thang, Deputy Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs Senior Lieutenant General Do Can, and representatives of the Ministry of National Defense and General Department of Logistics.

According to the general department’s chief Lieutenant General Tran Duy Giang, in 2021, despite the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, the general department and military logistic sector actively overcame difficulties to fulfill all assigned missions.

Addressing the event, Minister Giang hailed the unit’s achievements last year, especially in COVID-19 prevention and control. He noted that in 2022, the general department should embrace all directions of the Central Military Commission’s Standing Committee in implementing logistic services.

Meanwhile, they should also make recommendations to higher levels in the field while mapping out measures so as to raise the competence of the chains-of-command. The general department was also asked to carry out their key projects as scheduled, inspect fuel quality before use, and raise troops’ living quality, especially drastically combat the pandemic.

On the occasion of the lunar New Year 2022, on behalf of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, Defense Minister Giang expressed his hope that the General Department of Logistics and the logistic sector would further promote their achievements, overcome difficulties so as to well perform logistic services in 2022 and the coming years.
