Major General Vu Hai San, Commander of Military Region 3 and Nguyen Thi Thanh, Ninh Binh provincial Party Secretary attended the event.
General Ngo Xuan Lich, member of the Politburo, Minister of National Defense also sent a bouquet to the unit.
During the ceremony, participants recalled the unit’s remarkable achievements in the cause of national construction and defense over the past years in general and during the resistance wars against foreign invaders in particular. For its remarkable results, the Party and State granted the third-class Fatherland Protection Order to the unit.
Since its re-establishment in 1992, the Ninh Binh armed forces have always fulfilled defense and military missions such as implementing training exercises, maintaining combat readiness posture, selecting new recruits, training students on defense-security knowledge, and more.
In addition, they have been serving as the core force in dealing with natural disasters, assisting local people in overcoming disaster consequences and stabilizing people's lives, contributing to beautifying the image of Uncle Ho’s soldiers.
The local armed forces also built 121 gratitude houses for needy families of 10 troops who are on duty on islands of the Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago and DK1 platforms, supported nearly 10,000 working days’ salary to repair 453 houses for policy beneficiaries and needy households; handed over about 8,000 savings books, and raised gratitude fund.
During the event, on behalf of the State President, Major General Vu Hai San handed over the noble order to the chain of command of the provincial military command.
