PANO - Brigade 172 of the Naval Region 3 Command held a ceremony on July 9th to mark its 50th founding anniversary (July 9th 1966) and receive the first-class Fatherland Protection Order.

At the event, delegates recalled the unit's traditions and feats of arms during its 50 years of construction and development, stressing that the unit has always well performed all assigned missions, contributing to the national construction and defense cause. The unit's commanders and troops have been determined to continue overcoming adversity to fulfill combat readiness and training missions, search and rescue, as well as natural disaster relief, contributing to building a revolutionary, regular, elite and gradually modernized army.

Rear Admiral Pham Hoai Nam, member of the Party Central Committee and Commander of the Vietnam People's Navy, attended the ceremony and handed over the noble award to the brigade's commanders.
