Reports at the conference highlighted the outstanding outcomes and valuable experience in leading and directing the implementation of the resolutions and conclusion on military and defense strategy over the past five years and proposed measures to enhance the effectiveness of task implementation in the coming time.

Concluding the event, General Phan Vang Giang emphasized that under the leadership and direction of the CMC, MND, and party committees, and chains-of-command at all levels, the resolutions and conclusion on military and defense strategy have been synchronously and strictly carried out, contributing to raising the whole military’s awareness. Agencies and units have closely followed and accurately forecast situational developments and made recommendations to the Party and State to issue guidelines and policies to handle circumstances at sea, in the air, in border areas, and cyberspace; actively participated in natural disaster response, search and rescue, and overcoming consequences of natural disasters.
In addition, the CMC and MND have advised the Politburo to review the implementation of resolutions on national protection in the new situation; collaborated with other agencies and ministries to mobilize resources to building and consolidating the whole people’s defense posture; paid attention to building the military politically-, ideologically-, organizationally-, and ethically-strong; strictly carried out the streamlining of the military; taken synchronous measures to build a regular, elite, modernized cyberspace combat force; directed functional forces to firmly safeguard border areas and sea. Moreover, the international integration and defense diplomacy work has been creatively carried out bilaterally and multilaterally, contributing to raising the prestige and position of Vietnam and its military in the international arena.
Analyzing the domestic, regional, and international situation in the coming time, General Giang asked party committees and chains-of-command at all levels to thoroughly study the Party’s guidelines and State’s policies on national construction and defense in the new period; strictly and effectively carry out the resolutions on strategy on national defense in the new situation; study and make accurate evaluation and forecast of situations to give timely advice to the Party and State to issue guidelines and policies to effectively handle circumstances.
In addition, the defense minister emphasized the need to pay attention to building and consolidating the political system to create a firm foundation to build the firm whole people’s defense posture, security posture, and border defense posture; effectively actualize the Politburo’s conclusion on international integration and defense diplomacy and enhance the quality of bilateral and multilateral defense ties.
