In 2019, the provincial Border Guard Command has coordinated with the Party committees, authorities and other forces in the locality to maintain stability, security and order along the borderline, effectively fought crimes, participated in natural disaster relief and rescue missions, and promoted the socio-economic development in border areas.
The unit also set a plan to prepare for the upcoming traditional Lunar New Year, including ensuring combat readiness and sending delegations to welcome a happy New Year with ethnic minority groups.
Speaking at the event, Mai acknowledged and praised the achievements of troops of the Nghe An provincial Border Guard Command in the past. She asked the unit to continue upholding the achieved results, well performing their role as a core force in managing and protecting sovereignty and security in border areas.
The unit should also make proposals to higher levels to build the whole people's defense disposition in combination with the firm whole people's security posture.
Mai requested the unit to effectively implement the mass mobilization work, participate in local poverty reduction programs, and contribute to the economic, cultural and social development in the area.
She hoped that the unit's troops will promote the beauty of Uncle Ho's soldiers, the tradition of the Vietnam People's Army, and successfully complete all assigned tasks in the coming time.
