Ahead of the new mission, the steering committees 515 at all levels, agencies, units, and localities under MR4 have proactively prepared forces, vehicles, logistics supplies, and equipment, as well as conducted professional training and gathered information about martyrs’ graves. Innovative models have been applied to enhance effectiveness of the mission, such as the use of QR codes for training (in Thanh Hoa Province), Lao-language conversation boards (Hue City), and visual models illustrating the exhumation process (Nghe An Province).

The region’s search and repatriation teams have so far collected 138 pieces of information related to 197 sets of martyrs’ remains in Laos. Local agencies and units have also mobilized material support for the teams, including 8,330 sets of clothes, 2,200 notebooks, 70 blankets, medicine, and other essential goods worth nearly VND 1 billion.

Units were also asked to closely coordinate with Lao local authorities and people in verifying information, reviewing sites, and ensuring the mission’s progress and quality, while guaranteeing all benefits and policies for the participating forces.

On the occasion, the National Steering Committee 515 and MR4 presented gifts to encourage the search and repatriation teams before departure.

Prior to the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong and delegates offered incense and flowers in tribute to fallen soldiers at the Thanh Vinh Ward’s War Cemetery in Nghe An Province.
