Lt. Gen. Ngo Minh Tien encourages troops of a COVID-19 prevention checkpoint at Chi Ma border gate

Deputy Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Ngo Minh Tien made the request on January 22 while visiting the Military Command of Loc Binh district and the Border Post of Chi Ma Border Gate under the provincial Border Guard Command prior to the Lunar New Year Festival 2021.

General Tien added that in spite of carrying out important missions at the same time, the units should  pay due attention to troops’ spiritual lives during the upcoming Lunar New Year Festival by hosting special events for them. He also urged the Military Command of Loc Binh district and the Border Post of the Chi Ma Border Gate to conduct gratitude activities and take care of troops’ families, contributing to consolidating solidarity between troops and local people in the localities where they are stationed.

The unit receive a New Year gift

The Military Command of Loc Binh district should raise the quality of enlistment drives, training, exercises, and competitions, while the Border Post of Chi Ma Border Gates should strictly carry out combat readiness regulations and enhance inspections to prevent illegal border crossing, the COVID-19 pandemic, smuggling, and trade fraud activities, Tien added. 

During the visit, the Deputy Chief of the General Staff expressed delight at the positive results obtained by the units in 2020 and the first days of 2021, especially the Border Post of Chi Ma Border Gate. Last year, the post’s personnel overcame all challenges to prevent the COVID-19 pandemic from entering the country. He affirmed that the achievements have contributed to raising local leadership’ and people’s trust in Uncle Ho’s soldiers.

As the lunar New Year is coming, General Tien wished the units’ troops and their families good health, happiness, and success. He took the occasion to hand over the General Staff’s gifts to assist the units in hosting New Year events for troops.
