The defensive area exercise of Military Region 3 in 2023 was a success, achieving its objectives and ensuring secrecy and safety. This exercise featured several innovations compared to previous defensive area exercises at the military region level, including the use of both direct and virtual methods and the integration of modern information technology equipment.

During the exercise, participating officers and soldiers demonstrated their capabilities in terms of tactics, applying realistic combat scenarios, and effectively employing weapons and technical equipment.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong emphasized that the exercise aimed to enhance the commanding capability of Military Region 3 officers and their coordination with relevant forces, in preparation and conduct of defensive operations. Based on the exercise’s outcomes, units and agencies would adjust and refine their defensive combat plans to suit actual situations, meeting the requirements of missions in the new situation.

The exercise serves as the foundation for Military Region 3, as well as other military regions, to evaluate and explore the implementation of missions according to the new organizational structure of the military.
